Meet the Flintstones

As a kid, I ate a lot of Frankenberry and Freakies but as a collector I have come to really love the Post Pebbles cereal boxes. They are some of the nicest 1970's cereal boxes because there is no big bowl of cereal obscuring the character on the front. Also after the first few boxes Fred began to interact with the premiums. In addition the backs are equally stunning with great design and art. Of course as time went by the boxes became less interesting but those early years were astounding.

I enjoy the character interaction with the premiums as well. Post was doing it right, back then -- also with Post Super Sugar Crisp which usually had Sugar Bear holding the premium on the box front. Anything that broke away from the standard, re-used character image was special.

Oh, and I used to love wolfing down the Fruity Pebbles, and still remember when they added the GREEN pebbles. It never tasted quite right after that.

LOL! I had a few of the premiums aka prizes show on these boxes! I had the Dino Derrick and all three pencil holders. Now I am dating myself! ;-)
