Mr Toast circa 1989

This photo is of a diorama I made in 1989 for a show. It was about a mailboxes journey across the country and in the middle of it Mr Toast made an appearance (for some reason he was living in a haunted house). Also of note is that cool little rug in the center that my mom knit for me. The plot of the whole thing is pretty vague to me now but at least I still have this photo to remember it by.

that's cool that your mom made a rug for your art and my mom made me a quilt for mine...

I'd forgotten about that rug, but do remember the show and the diorama's. I still have a few of the little mailboxes that you gave away at the show.

You know what is cool in addition to mailboxes? Fire hydrants. Also lampposts. The old-fashioned kind.

I have painted fire hydrants and lamp posts recently. At some point I will run across the rest of the photos of that old show and I might even post them!
