Libbyland TV Dinners

I loved them as a kid although I only think I had them a few times. When I started collecting, they were at the top of my want list. Through the years I have gotten a couple of the boxes and a number of the cels. The commercials had the good Libby the Kid battling Mean Gene, classic stuff.

Sometimes when I see pictures of these things (the Libbyland Dinners), if I close my eyes, for just a brief moment I can actually remember the smell of those things as my mom took them out of the oven. No microwaves back then, eh? In particular, the one with beans and franks and the chocolate brownie. Yum! :)

The art style looks like the same as the old School House Rock bumpers. Really lovely!

Ohhh God-- The Chocolate Brownie!!
deep, dark, mysterious vapors would escape, like sailors on a jail-break, the tender flesh too soon limned around my mouth, a muddy mustache the evidence, wiped off by store-brand kool-aid in spun aluminium cups, bought for a boy scout jamboree, sold to a million mothers, the scene fine and similar in front of how many teevees?...
