See You Next Year

Lots in store next year including a Plush show at Gallery 1988 in January, LA TImes Festival of Books in April, an art show at Nick Studios in May and Comic Con in July. I am also hopeful that I will have some news about a book project I have been working toward. SO thanks for all the support this year and I will see you in the future......

Screaming Yellow Zonkers

In 1983 Screaming Yellow Zonkers offered cool little space creatures inside the boxes. They even went so far as to trick out a thermal coffee mug as their space ship. Fun stuff.

More large size hand made dolls. Drunken Carrot is 24" tall! I am getting better working the sewing machine. I have them for sale in my Etsy store.

I Was There (sort of)

It was May 25th 1977 and me and my family thought we would go to the movies and see this new sci-fi picture that was opening. Well we got to the movie theatre and soon realized that was not happening. The lines were enormous and the only tickets they had were for a 10 PM show. So we went home and returned a few days later to get the thrill of our lives. As we know the rest is history.

But the one thing I took away from that first week showing was the classic "May the force be with you." button. This button opened up a world of collecting (for a kid who loved collecting) involving Early Bird kits that contained no toys only a certificate to mail in and then more and more figures of more and more obscure characters. I'm happy to have saved a few of my figures but it still annoys me that Boba Fett's rocket does not fire....

Supermarket Images

Right now I am thinking about a series of paintings dealing with supermarkets so I dug through my slides and found some nice old images. The scans are not great but still fun stuff. Also, I think the first two are from 1950's and the rest from some time in the 1970's and I have no idea what stores.
