Just got the photos. I love the arms and legs but they made him textured. If anyone has any thoughts on the texturing, I would be glad to hear them......

I quite like the texturing, but I think it needs to differentiate between Mr T's crust and the rest of him. The crust needs to be a bit smoother in my opinion.
Looking cool though!
I second minifig!
The texture takes the edge off the slight oddness of vinyl - something I was a little worried about. Definitely agree that the crust needs to be smoothed out a bit.
Pretty cool.
The crust could be painted with slight overlap which would help differentiate, but it should be smoothed out. The texture looks nice and I'd be curious to see how it looks in his final colored stage. I hope the arms and legs move and possibly balance him to stand.
I agree the crust needs to be different from the toast part. I wonder if they can make the toast part drop down along the edge of the crust to make sort of a edge between the two? Just a thought.
Oh and make the stand look like the top of a toaster......
I personally don't like the texture... he doesn't look vinyl... otherwise looks great!
I like the texture (though I agree the crust should be smooth), but I'm not so sure about the color. What it all comes down to is, is Mr. Toast whole wheat, or white? And is he buttered or dry or margarined? I always thought of him as white and margarined. Is this prototype just Mr. Toast in his raw state? By the way, I love the toaster-pedestal idea.
yeah he will be painted - I think right now I am leaning against the texturing on a whole because it makes him too much like a piece of toast/bread. The smoothness makes him a bit more abstract.
The final toy will be painted, this is an unpainted prototype
yeah I like the toaster base, that would be a nice touch. thanks Randy!
I am 50/50 on this. On one hand, the texture really makes it look like bread, on the other hand, I am so used to seeing him 'flat' that it's odd to see him with the texture. I kinda prefer the flat, but then again..it does look like bread. Gee that was helpful huh?
Ok, I thought more on this. I think it should be flat, so as to stay true to the O.G. Mr. Toast, closer to the 'art', if you will.
I vote no on the texture. I think he should look as if he just walked out of one of your cartoons.
The toaster base would really set it off! Great idea!
Hmmm, having given it some thought, I'd say it would better if it were smooth like Mr. T himself. It's all part of his persona, if you will.

I like my toast smooth and flat. Seriously though, I agree with eurotrash's comment, the texture does and doesn't make sense. I think I'd like it better without, though.
Love the texture. Needs a crust. :)
For me, the texture would separate it out from "typical" vinyl toys - kind of mass-produced looking.
Also, there are times when that just-popped-out-of-2D look doesn't quite pan out.
i.e.: hose vinyl Simpsons dolls with the smooth features and bulging eyeballs give me the creeps.
uh, that should be "those vinyl". Although maybe "hose vinyl" could work too.
oops.
I kind of like the texture in and of itself, but as it is - all over - is 'too much of a muchness' sorta-thang.
Perhaps if Monsiuer T's crust and about 5mm in were smoothed? Or vice-versa...
His little feets are verra cute!
mr. toast is toasted afterall, so he should be brown. the crust needs to be smoother. hey dan i've been trying to adveritise your stuff on my account on deviantart, but so far it's ify. i guess people don't like photo's anymore.
