On the Bookshelf

The Toybox of Glico. Another amazing book from Japan. This one is from 2002 and put out by Amus Arts Press. It details the work of designer Yuzo Kato who designed small plastic premiums for Glico candy. Each started as a beautiful tiny wood carving and is transformed into a multi-part put together plastic toy. Simple yet elegant.

Thanks so much for posting this! It brings back so many childhood memories.

Would you mind posting the ISBN number?

My friend steve bought it in Japan. It was done in conjunction with a show of the premiums and original carvings.

Thanks! Unfortunately it looks like it's out of print but there seems to be another book by the same author that features more Glico toys.
