Beech-Nut Cereal boxes

I just love this group of Beech-Nut baby cereal boxes. The incredible graphics look like they were done by Richard Scarry. Classic packaging at its best.

Amazing! Thanks for posting these. They certainly do look like Scarry's.

Dan, if it's okay--I've made a link to your blog using one of these Beech Nut box images(I uploaded it to my own server so as not to dirct link and overload your server). This is a marvelous site! UI also have a copy of "Krazy Kids' Food!" on my desk at work and it unfailingly gets people to pick it up and ooh and aah over the images. Nice job there.

The bear on the train is great. I love the little extra character of him swinging the lantern.

I'm a longtime Scarry fan- especially the painted books and illustrations. I had no idea he'd ever done any packaging illustration, but that sure does look like him. Great detective work, bwah!

Thanks for the swell blogging.

Hi, Great site! I think those illustrations were by Gyo Fujikawa...

I can't BELIEVE it! I had a book as a child with illustrations by someone who was Japanese...it was a hardback book that was taller than wider. I have been trying to find the name of the illustrator so I could find the book for my grandson.
I swear, I was like five when I had it and I think this is the name! Gyo Fujikawa! I found this accidentally
Thank you Tom
