The Art of Animation

The Art of Animation catalog

In 1958, the American Federation of Arts put together a traveling exhibition detailing the history of animation. The focus of the exhibit was the work of Disney and coincided quite nicely with the release of Sleeping Beauty. This series of photos gives us an all to limited view of what must have been a spectacular exhibition. I have also scanned a little booklet that was probably made to sell museums on the idea of hosting the exhibit.

Wow, thanks Dan, I always wondered what the heck this exhibit looked like, and these photos are just the thing! Ordinarily I am a fan of black and white photographs, but if only these were in color!!
