These are very cool. They remind me a lot of a set of cards I collected when I was a kid (I think by Topps) called Super Freak Baseball Cards, I wonder if the artist is the same?

the art was designed by Wally Wood and Basil Wolverton and most were painted by Norm Saunders, the guy that did Mars Attacks.
All those great artists were influenced by each other in their great weird creations.
Thank you so much for posting those! I had nearly all of them, in my obsessive yout - it took me many trips to the local Ben Franklin to pick them up. I seem to remember these being released about the same time the Marvel Flyers were in stores. Wow - what great memories these pics brought back!...
