Mr Toast's USA Tour - Arizona

This week we find Mr Toast in Arizona with Charlie and Lisa as his kind hosts. First up some local site seeing but careful of all the cactus.

A quick side trip to the museum

Then back to work.......

Then off to unwind at the local tiki bar.

I think it is time for Mr Toast to move along. Next up is the great state of Texas.

He ate the last one.

Nickelodeon Art SHow

Last night was the Nickelodeon art show where I showed my Lemon Bros. Markets paintings. The show took place in a room in the building where Sponge Bob comes to life. The show "Milk Milk Lemonade" was made up of work by me, Randy Saba and Nouar. All the work was food and product related. It was a fun opening with mini hot dogs and plenty of cupcakes. I got to say hi to Amy Winfrey and Rob, who are both working on Amy's new Nick show based on her popular webtoon Making Fiends. I also got to talk with Dave "Major Pepperidge" of Gorillas don't Blog. It is pretty cool to hang out and have my art in a place where everything going on is creative.

The Lemon Bros.

I have been working on a body of work about The Lemon Bros. Markets. The back story is about two Lemons, who were brothers, that started a grocery store. Eventually the two quarreled and the one brother left to live in the country. The business continued to grow until now when Lemonhead, the son of the lemon who stayed, is managing one of the stores. His cousin Clem Lemon, son of the brother who moved away, has come to the big city and is working for his cousin.

So this is all actually an excuse to do paintings of my characters in a Supermarket setting. Also it has led to a series of paintings that are product advertising posters. Some of these paintings are going in a show at the Nickelodeon Studios Gallery. Unfortunatly the Gallery is not open to the public. But I will take pictures of the installation. Then any of the paintings that are not sold there, will travel with me to the San Diego Comic Con where they will also be available for purchase (along with a million other things I am working on....).

Mr Toast T-Shirts

I have been making t-shirts for almost 5 years. It all began because my friend Steve would make shirts every christmas and give them away. It was fairly inexpensive and easy to have done in small quantities. My first shirt was "Mr Toast Tours" and I probably only had 24 made. They were done in June of 2002 and given away to friends.

As time went by I kept doing more shirts and tried to get them in stores and sold them online. Eventually when I started setting up at some shows I found that was the best way to sell my shirts.

Since all of my shirts were done in very small amounts, most of them are sold out. In all I have done 19 designs. Right now I am planning 3-4 more including one of Shaky Bacon. Look for the new designs at San Diego Comic Con in July.
