Well today is the final day of my Burry's cookies postings. I end with an item I have been looking to find for almost 20 years. When I started collecting kids food stuff in 1988, I wanted to find all the products that I loved as a kid. This meant Freakies, Funny Face and my favorite cookies, Gauchos. At that time I did not even remember their name, I just remembered the elephant that graced the front of the box.
Well for 19 years I have searched and never seen one for sale. But through the magic of eBay someone put one up for sale. I bid and won it and a few days later it showed up. It is kind of strange to fill that hole in my collection after so long. But it is great to have that childhood memory all wrapped up and sitting on the shelf.

Congratulations on the Gaucho's score. I was watching that one on eBay. It's always great to finally get those "Holy Grails".
This has been a great ride thru the wonderful world of Burry's cookies. Funny thing that I've never found any Burry's stuff in my area. I'll be keeping an eye out! Good work Dan!
yeah I dont know why Burry's stuff is hard to find. They did not do much print advertising in the 60's or 70's which is usually the easist stuff to find. Well we all keep looking.....

WOW these Burry boxes braught back a lot of memories. I forgot about Gaucho's and Mr Chips.
Here is one I remember. They were animal cookies, large ones, with pink icing. I think the box from what I can vaguely remember had a circus design. This was from the mid to late 1960s.
Does anyone remember FFV (Famous Foods of Virginia) chocolate chip cookies? Does anyone have any photos of the red and white striped package?
What a nice tribute - I, too, remember fondly the perfect blend of crisp cookie and peanut filling. My mother wouldn't let us have cookies in the house, but my friend Danny Elias' mother did.I tasted them there, and never forgot them. This morning, after making a peanut butter sandwich, I had a craving for one, 41 years later, that I can't fulfill.

I don't remember the Fudgetown commercials well, but I sure remember the cookies, especially how much fun it was to poke your finger through the middle to get the gob of fudge out. Yummmmm... What great memories. I have never had a packaged chocolate chip cookie as good as Mr. Chips, either. Good stuff!
My mother always felt that the Girl Scouts provided Burry's with a convenient avenue to sample market lines of cookies for their company.
Burry's seems to then have stolen the thunder from the Girl Scouts by producing cookies highly similar to the Girl Scout cookie line. Just a thought.
For all you folks craving Gaucho cookies: it's Girl Scout cookie time again, and their Do-si-dos are not like Gaucho cookies...they ARE Gaucho cookies.

I had a flashback to the 60's and thought of my favorite cookie. Google took me hear....good memories.
Man, I remember these. I used to call them Burpy Geckos, because it was funny, and mostly because it used to piss my mom off when I said it.
