Well 7 days make a week so this is the end. I have also thrown in a couple of Woodsy Owl pieces that came in the collection. It seems that the cool 1970's Woodsy Owl has gotten the boot and been replaced with a New Super Lame version. You can read about it over on Boing Boing - Here, Here and Here, it will make you cry.

Smokey the Bear Week - Day 4

Today a very common but perfect little tin litho tab button. They probably have produced a million of these and the world is a better place because they exsist. Also some little calendars. I really enjoy the border on the 1957 one. Lastly a little table sign that they probably used in National Park visitor's centers.

Smokey the Bear Week - Day 3

Today we have a group of bookmarks and blotters. Such great paper giveaways that people saved and used because of the wonderful graphics that were on them. I really like that the graphics changed to reflect the times but remained consistently strong.

More Candy Corn

I just finished a couple new candy corn paintings. The top one is based on a Gags comic I did and the "Just Say No" is a single corn version of the first candy corn painting. I love painting the candy corn guys because the mix of white, orange and yellow is just pure magic.

Today we have a bunch of coloring sheets that would be given out to the kids. Nice bold black line work. I really like the last one with the super generic kids playing baseball.

Smokey the Bear Week - Day 1

Had a nice, albeit chilly,morning yesturday at the Rose Bowl Flea Market. I was lucky to pick up a big fat binder containing a Smokey the Bear collection. Tons of paper goodness so all this week I will be scanning and sharing my favorites.
