The ice cream parlor of the 1960's must have been a wondrous place. I remember all the great signs that were displayed every month at the Baskin Robbins 31 flavors but the signs from the 60's are my favorites. Tastee Freez, Humdinger and Eat-It-All promote ice cream as larger then life.

Priceless. Especially the rocket. Memories ...
Beautiful. Though I grew up in the 70s, it might as well have been ten years earlier in rural central Illinois. I must have seen a bunch of those at the beach (lake beach), community pool and near the local baseball dimaond.
I see the top one has a date, 1959. They are all very late-50s-looking, with the emphasis on new states Alaska and Hawaii and the space age. My favorite era! The source of so much good stuff. Me, for example.
Most of them were dated 1960 & 1961 and the group came with a sales book from 1964 which I will be scanning some stuff from in the near future.
Found your blog on Tick Tock Toys. I like retro toys, ads, and food as well.
Anyway, those pictures are great. Way way way way before my time, but I bet it tasted a lot better back then.
the great thing is some stuff does taste the same - I still enjoy a Bomb Pop from time to time and it is that exact same taste as my youth (in the 70's)
holy guacamole - dem beez sum cool ice cream signs. dan, how DO you find this stuff????
lots of time on ebay and at flea markets for the last 17 years! I am an old man.
There's a Tasty Freeze at my favorite beach. I always try to go there when I'm down there.
