These are very cool. They remind me a lot of a set of cards I collected when I was a kid (I think by Topps) called Super Freak Baseball Cards, I wonder if the artist is the same?
Thank you so much for posting those! I had nearly all of them, in my obsessive yout - it took me many trips to the local Ben Franklin to pick them up. I seem to remember these being released about the same time the Marvel Flyers were in stores. Wow - what great memories these pics brought back!... - The Evil Twin
The most horrifying characters: aliens, creatures from the deep, a werewolf, Frankenstein, a skeleton, a pirate, and... A HIPPIE!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeletethe art was designed by Wally Wood and Basil Wolverton and most were painted by Norm Saunders, the guy that did Mars Attacks.
