Burry jumped into the licensed character game in the 1950's with Howdy Doody cookies and Hopalong Cassidy cookies. These beautiful full color boxes helped promote the TV shows and were part of an avalanche of products marketed to kids during this period.
sooo...how many more burry days are there?
ReplyDelete11 more fun filled days - I was going to cut it short but the interest has been amazing!
ReplyDeleteinterest? you mean you and me? can't possibly be anyone else out there?....
ReplyDeleteI'm digging this and I'll be checking in everyday! Good work Dan!
ReplyDeleteoh great...encouragement..YAY...NOT!
ReplyDeleteNothing makes me want to eat cookies more than a gun in my face.
ReplyDeleteOn the sides of the Hopalong Cassidy Burry's Cookie Box were cowboy cattle brands. My mother traced many of them onto my toy box and added some of her own. Hoppy's brand was Bar 20 (the number with a line drawn underneath), Roy Rogers Double R BAR Brand and even the Lone Ranger's brand - LR. Wish I had that toy box now. It would be a collector's item.
