The Golden Valley was a series of General Mills cereal box comic strips in the mid 1970's. They extolled the virtues of food groups and vitamins through the travels of Lilly and Kristopher. The art was pure 1970's, a little bit the Point with some School House Rocks and a smidge of Yellow Submarine. I have no idea who did hte artwork but it is consistently wonderful.
Wow, these are groovy great!
ReplyDeletei think its the same guy who did 'time for timer'.... ok, now i'm hankering for a hunk of cheese...
ReplyDeleteVery cool! (And very yellow!)
ReplyDeleteGolden Valley (a Minneapolis suburb) is where General Mills headquarters are located. I can't say I've ever seen any talking cows or psychedelic snakes there though. It must have been a crazy city in the 1970s.
Oh, there WERE talking cows and psychedelic snakes in Golden Valley in the '70s - I remember them - but I think they were pushed up north as the Twin Cities expanded :D
