Love your blog. It's in my folder of must visit daily sites. Thanks for giving me a smile each day ;-) PS: the Mary Blair cards are great! I've added a few of these to my screensaver photo collection.
I know that Blair's style was similar to many other commercial artists of the 60s and 70s, but I was wondering - was she perhaps responsible for the illos on the "Eat-It-All" ice cream cone dispenser box that we all saw in virtually every ice cream parlour in the US during that time? You know the one I'm talking about - it was a rosy-cheeked boy & girl eating an ice cream cone; very colorful and very similar in style. That image made an indelible mark on my psyche.
i love mary blair, i could kiss you for finding these. :)
ReplyDeleteI really, really, really want to find this set of cards!!

ReplyDeleteI dont think she had anything to do with the Eat It All kids. As has been noted elswhere she did the Meadow Gold Girl.
