The Wood-imals of Jungle Island
As a kid in the early 1970's, I got to experience the Wood-imals when we visited Jungle Island across the street from Knott's Berry Farm. They were classic folk art creations for an audience of children and I remember them fondly.
Dan - here's a link to a post I did on Jungle Island with some interesting photos.... http://www.tikiroom.com/tikicentral/bb/viewtopic.php?topic=8541&forum=6&vpost=85875
Your woodimal posts are very cool. I remember these from when I was a kid at Knott's Berry Farm. I had pictures of a couple of them that were lost for years but I finally found them today. Too bad there are not more pictures of Jungle Island online.

ReplyDeletePLEASE post photos of Jungle Island if you can get some. I have absurdly fond memories and no pictures to speak of. I'd be forever in your debt!
ReplyDeleteAny chance you can post those photos of jungle island again? They are missing(at least for me) from the posted link...
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to the trees from Jungle Island? I might know of a new home for them.
