Art Show Final Weekend

Well it is the final weekend of my art show at Monkeyhouse Toys. I want to thank everyone that came by to see it. I also want to thank all my great artist friends who did work for the show. The show was quite a success and hopefully we can do it again next year.

If you did buy something, you can start picking up the pieces on Sunday. In other show news, I will be at the NY Comic Con on April 18-20 (in the artist alley section), LA Times Festival of Books on April 26-27 and at VTN in Pasadena May 4th.

Friends of Mr Toast - Patches

Kelly Vivanco aka Patches is a painter and a comic artist. her comic strip Patches is peopled with all sorts of cute animals who do crazy things. She has been doing it since 2003, 3 times a week, now that is dedication. And her paintings, well those are just amazing.

Friends of Mr Toast - Meomi

Meomi = Cuteness. That is an equation for artistic perfection.

Meomi has published two Octonauts books which everyone should have. They have one of the coolest websites ever (click on the characters to make them play music). And Meomi is 2 different people who live in 2 different cities. HOORAY!

Friends of Mr Toast - Tweedlebop

Michael Fleming aka Tweedlebop is pro illustrator. But he still finds time in his schedule to do his own webcomic, Putrid Pal. Putrid Pal is an undead French boy that lives under the sea and hangs out at the monsterous Woe Funfair. Since you can never have enough Putrid Pal, you can order a Putrid Pal Vinyl Toy. I can't even imagine what he will do next, but I am sure it will be great fun.

Friends of Mr Toast - Todd Webb

Todd Webb draws comics and makes music. He keeps a comic journal called Casual Poet. The name of his band is Seamonster (how cool is that). He has self published 4 books including one about a girl who gets to go on an adventure with the Moon! Oh yeah, he is the nicest person in the world.

Thanks Todd for being a part of my show.

Postcards from Mr Toast

At my art show opening last week, I got to meet Jerod and his girlfriend Keri, who are big Mr Toast fans. He is a teacher in Culver City and his love of Mr Toast has spread to one of his classes. It seems that the kids have taken over one of the whiteboards in the classroom and covered it with postcards of Mr Toast's travels around the world. Amazing.

Jerod even had Keri make him a Mr Toast costume for Halloween last year! That is so cool!
